Flowers on Saturday week 55

 blueberry craft and hobby time

Today I am sharing with you a photo of Poinsettia. I always get it for Christmas. I love they way it looks

Many people class the Poinsettia as a temporary or annual plant, which inevitably means a quick trip to the bin or compost heap after blooming.

In spite of this, many thrifty gardeners allow the Poinsettia another year to produce a second seasonal flush before disposing of it. The results achieved from this experiment can be quite satisfactory, provided you know how to look after a poinsettia plants needs. For more info how to take care of this plant click here

My Bokeh Effect

I had my Christmas tree up and decided to practice creating bokeh effect. I've seen so many beautiful photos that I just had to try to take my own shot. It took me good few clicks before I was happy enough with this one. I know I still need to practice, but I will get there and one day my bokeh effect will be as beautiful as the ones you see out there on the web world and you say  ''wow, that's beautiful''

Flowers on Saturday week 54

 blueberry craft and hobby time

We are coming to a very busy week. I still have to do Christmas Shopping, get the house ready, we have our tree up with lots of colorful decorations and lights. I wonder if we get snow this year, for the moment the mornings are very frosty and with the sun trying to break through it looks very nice.
Are you ready for Christmas or do you still have plenty to do?

my flower for today is from my files, it was taken just before summer

The Joy of Melt and Pour Soap Crafting - Book Review

I always wanted to make my own soap, however I thought it might be too difficult until I read book by Lisa Maliga – The Joy of Melt and Pour Soap Crafting.

It is a great book not only for beginners , who are only starting their adventure with soap making but also for the ones who already made good few soap products.
The book contains information on what equipment you should have for soap making, what type of soap base and moulds you should use. It details the use of fragrance & essential oils, herbs. You will also learn all about what is best for you to use in soaps, which colorant to use and which you should avoid. If you intend to make more than just one bar of soap there is great information on how to store, package and label your creations. But what I like most about this book is that it offers many clear and easy to follow recipes to create your own soaps.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about soap making. This practical guide is well written and researched and you will really enjoy reading it and you will get ideas for your own soap recipes.

I love photographing feet and hands. But it's always me who takes the photos and I am not that often in them, so I asked my daughter to take this shot of my and her little brothers hands. I made some changes to it and i think it's one worth putting on the wall. What do you think ?

Flowers on Saturday week 53

 blueberry craft and hobby time

My Clivia plant is blooming again. I love when my indor plants start flowering and if it is during winter it's even better.
Clivia miniata (commonly known as Bush lily) is a species of clivia, from South Africa. It grows to a height of about 45cm in the shade of trees and shrubs, and flowers are red, orange or yellow, with a faint, but very sweet perfume. It is sometimes known in cultivation as "Kaffir Lily

Favourite Photo Monday

There is so many great tutorials on how to create bokeh effect. I have some of them saved to my favourites ,one day I just have to open all these files and learn. But when I've seen this photo, I was smiling , without any intention I think I've got some bokeh effect there , this is a capture of one of the knitted mug cozies with some silver beads. One of my favourite photos.
