Five Question Friday

This is the first time I'm doing the Five Friday Question. When I found it, it look like fun, so here it goes:

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it?

I don't think I had any favourite toy or blanket, at least I don't remember

2. Do you dream in color?

From time to time I do dream in colour, or there is one more vivid at the time

3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller?

I am tall enough (163cm), wouldn't want to be any other height, but I still have to go on my tippy toes to kiss my partner, but that's the way I like

4. If you could have any one's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be?

OK, so if I had GPS, (and I mean to buy it, so I won't be lost going on my next trip - see my previous post about the maze ) It has to be Morgan Freeman. I love his voice

5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot?

If I am going shopping on my own I always return the shopping cart to the right place, if my daughter is we me I usually ask if she wants to ear some money, she is always so eager to bring the trolley back where it belongs and happy that she has some cents for her piggy bank

How to get your Herb Garden at home

Herbs are easy to grow at home and it's a great way to add color and fresh herbs to your cooking. You can add them to almost any recipe.

Try this simple instructions of creating new containers for your herbs. What a great idea to have them on the windowsill close to place where you cook.

What you will need to make this project:

  • Metal can ( I used food can)

  • Herbs (pick whichever you use the most)

  • Decorative paper

  • PVA glue

  • clear varnish

  • brush

  • scissors

  • hammer/screwdriver or simply drill

Use drill or hammer and screwdriver to make holes in the can so if there is too much water it can come out

Cut your decorative paper to fit the shape of the container.

I found this herb design paper and I thought it will be perfect for this project

Spread the PVA glue on to the container, don't use too much

Stick your paper to the containers

Once it dries, you can put a coat of clear varnish. If you want to make it more shiny,
after the first coat dries put second or third layer.

Wait for the varnish to dry and then you can start planting your herbs

And that's it you done. Now you can pick your chosen herb whenever you need it.

Where I come from

I live in Ireland for 11 years now but I still miss home city and my home country. I come from Poland, I grew in the place that whenever I can I visit back. My brother sent me this link to this video. It promotes my province and the city where I was born. It is really worth watching. Check it out and let me know what you think about it.

Maze in Castlewallen

On the nice sunny day we went to Peace Maze in Castlewallen (Northern Ireland)
It's a great place to see, fun for kids and adults trying to find the right way out through the maze.
We left the house in the afternoon, thinking it will take only an hour to get there. I printed out the directions from google maps and of we went. Somehow after two hours it didn't look that we were anywhere close to the place. As it happened we read the map wrong, and from some point we went the opposite direction. So advice to everyone: take a proper full map or get GPS, as printouts of just a small part of the road are no good. It took as three hours to get there but only forty minutes to come back.

So here we are : Peace Maze in Castlewallen

It looks really impressive. It is the world's largest hedge maze

It was planted in 2000

Which way, which way?

Attempt to solve your way out is great fun, you can spend lots of time running around to find the right turn

Do you think it's easy?

After solving your way to the centre of the maze everyone rings the bell

How to prepare a floral foam flower arrangement

Instead of paying for expensive floral arrangements from florist, why not make one yourself. It is easy and very quick to make.

You will need: container, floral foam, fresh flowers, scissors

I found these lovely cup and saucer in the shop the other day and couldn't resits to buy, use different shape containers for your arrangements, experiment with them

Choose the floral foam for fresh flower, they come in different shapes and sizes

Check if it fits into the container, you can always cut it to make it fit in

Soak your floral foam for few minutes in cold water

While you waiting for the foam, get your fresh flowers, there is so many varieties, so use your imagination which kind to buy

Cut the stems

Next put your soaked foam inside the container

And now you can start placing your cut flowers into the foam

Try to not to leave any gaps between the flowers, place as many as you can, the fuller it is the better it looks

And that's it, done, very easy to make, remember to water it from time to time for the arrangement to stay lovely looking for longer
